Look at River

So today I sorta had a meltdown. I'm better now but I don't really want to talk about it. Instead I'll try to cheer myself up (and maybe some of y'all) by posting more pictures of River :). 

That's her new collar (that barely fits yet). I had to let River chew my finger for a second so I could get a good picture of it (normally that's a big no-no). Addison helped pick the collar out. :)

Over and over

I made a post this morning and it never got officially posted which makes me mad. I can remember some of what I was writing but I won't be able to say it as well or I might feel differently right now as opposed to this morning. I have heard from several people that their comments aren't going through either. Please let me know if you are having this problem and double check that your comment really did get posted. 

I got my legs waxed this morning. It hurt. What's the worst is that after they pull off the first strip, you know there is going to be another. It's going to be just as painful as the last one. There is no way to sugar coat it.  Maybe try distracting yourself. Maybe be as calm as you can. Maybe scream and let it all out. 

Yup, that's right. I found a way to compare getting my legs waxed with how it feels to lose Addison. 

It never stops hurting. It never hurts any less. And I know it isn't over. I will continue to hurt for years and years. 

I don't know what else to say about that... So here's an update on Addison's Flowers...

Addison's Flowers

My wonderful friend, Sarah, gave me 4 beautiful plants (2 per pot) called Addison's Leather Flower (clematis addisonii). I just finished painting their pots. These flowers only grow natively in 4 counties in Virginia and are only sold by 1 nursery. I can't wait for them to bloom!! The flowers range from a pink to purple color (you all know what I'm hoping for).

Puppy Pictures on a Somber Day

I feel very somber this morning. Like I could have laid in bed all day. I'm up though. It kinda feels like I ran a marathon and my body doesn't want to expel any more energy. I think it's depression. I don't think and I hope it doesn't last long. If the sun would come out today that would help.

In other news, we got pictures of the puppy. Her name will be River even though the pic says Mary. We will pick her up on April 12th from Kentucky.

This is very healthy parts of grieving and don't be hard on yourself. Stay close to Heavenly Father and you will be bouncing around as that is very natural for you. So when you get to put your paws on River feel the love she will give to you freely.

Lisa Cornish Kotter: Did your mother have postpartum depression? I'm not saying that's what this is, but it could be compounding your grief. I've heard that taking care of your own needs (sleep, nutrition, fluids) and exercising and getting sunshine can help with depression. Obviously that is a very simplistic way to look at it, but it's something. (Sorry - I wish I had something to say that would take away all your pain.) I'm sorry you're going through this, and I hope you feel better and better each day. In other news, your puppy is absolutely adorable. I can't believe how small she is!

Emily Beth Rusch: No pain. Cough is almost gone. Still blowing my nose quite a bit but I can breathe through it. A little dizzy sometimes but my blood pressure is ok. Emotionally I would still say 80/20. 80 being the pretty good and 20 being pretty sad.
